Pran had just barely completed his training for the coming threat. He was still healing from his recent run in with Liari, however. That hole she put in him packed one hell of a punch. Now, the situation had gotten drastically worse in a very short amount of time. A battle had taken place a few days ago. Despite it being far up north, their energies could be felt all across the world. He could sense Liari there, as well as Zaks, and also few others. However, he also a MUCH higher one. Larger than anything he could comprehend. Whoever it was had power that easily dwarfed Liari's. But... that wasn't all either.
He wasn't able to head out to participate because at the time he was still undergoing his mother's teachings, but he was using his energy sense to pick up whatever he could. He had sensed a drastic turn of events. Queen Zaks's energy... had completely faded away. There was only one explanation for that: She was dead. Presumably killed in the conflict. It was almost hard to believe. The fact sent chills through his spine as he entered the Crimson Rivers, only to suddenly stop. He was confused.
This village... was completely empty.
It was like a ghost town in here, he didn't understand it. Did something bad happen here? Where was Athren? Pran took a stroll around to check things out. Being that his village wasn't too far away, he felt like if some insane slaughter had happened here, he would've picked up on it somehow. Luckily, there weren't signs of that. There was no bloodshed or destroyed property, but the whole place looked... cleaned out. It was if someone came in and shut this entire place down.
That's when he sensed him. Coming from a building that looked like where a leader of the village would be. Pran turned towards it and cautiously walked towards it. He'd call out to him, announcing his arrival so that the Saiyan wouldn't be startled at his sudden arrival.
"Hello? Athren? It's me, Pran! I know it's been a while but uh... We should probably talk!"

It wasn't something Athren had liked and it was going to take some adapting too, but the empty village was for the best. It meant that the lives of all the people who once lived here would be spared from the onslaught coming on Earth and from what he had monitored from the battle. The onslaught was major. If it hadn't been for his unexpected company during the battle, the likelihood of Athren's fate being the same as Zaks and Ayu would've been high. He was setting out to fight Arctic one way or the other and he knew it was going to be on his own terms but now the Earth had been lacking warriors.
While Athren didn't view Zaks as a defender of Earth, she had been another obstacle in the way for the Changeling to cut through. As for Ayu? He didn't expect her to get right into the heat of the fight and he surely didn't expect her to die but her power level fading had all but confirmed that fate. He couldn't pick it up elsewhere either. As for Callion? Athren didn't know what the situation was with him. His power level dropped to a faint signature but Athren hadn't felt it since. It had seemed that the defense of the Earth was crumbling and most of the warriors that could've made a difference had passed on or already been defeated. That didn't leave much room for the Earth to plan against Arctic and make a counter attack. Surely, if Callion would've rallied the warriors and got them to work together the loss wouldn't have been so much or so heavy.
He could also sense that Opherla and another had the same shift in their energy that Quash did when he had the M on his forehead. He could tell by the way Quash acted that this was the influence of Liari. Athren couldn't help but wonder if he could free them in order to take the fight to Arctic but even that had seemed like a lost cause. It was difficult to plan when one was all alone and now that the situation had been nearly hopeless, that one on one fight with Arctic seemed like throwing away the last bit of hope for the planet. Athren wasn't sure of how to proceed but sensing Pran in the village, he knew how to move forward at least in this next moment. He left his house and made his way to Pran where he heard him calling. Pran wanted to talk and Athren had a hunch what it was about. Perhaps Pran was going to step up and make an attempt at defending the Planet?
"What're we going to talk about today?"
Athren paused as he drew closer, before ranting off his suspicions,
"If I were to take a guess, I'd have a feeling it's about the death that's at our doorstep?"
Of course, he was referring to the Changeling because as of this moment. There was no way to come out on top.

"Uh, yeah. That's one way to put it I guess."
Pran turned toward Athren upon hearing his voice.
"I don't what happened a couple days ago, but Zaks's energy completely dissipated. Like, poof. Which means, she's dead. On top of that, there was a big, and I really do mean MASSIVE, energy signature there too. I've never seen anything like it. I didn't even know one person could even HAVE that much power. Do you know anything about that? Because between that and Liari -We really gotta talk about her too-, I think it goes without saying that we're gonna need to band together on this one. There were several other guys over there from what I could pick up from sensing their ki, but I don't even know who any of them are or if they're even good guys."
He sighed, trying to think of any ideas. Part of him wanted to ask him about his village, but he's not sure if that even mattered at the moment. So far, it didn't look like Athren thought anything was out of the ordinary, so maybe something.... not tragic happened?
"I've been doing a lot of training, but it's going to take more than two of us. Is there anyone, and I do mean anybody, that can be of any use? It doesn't even matter if they aren't that strong, we just need as many people as we can get."

It had been confirmed by Pran that he was here to talk about the dire situation that was happening on Earth. He could tell that the young man hadn't ever faced anything like this before and from their past experiences, Athren knew that Pran wasn't a hardened warrior who had been exposed to battles such as this with massive stakes before. It was something that he would have to get used to quickly because if this planet were to stand a chance at all, Pran was going to have to fight. After all, he had the power and had the potential to make a difference here. Athren already knew that one fighter against Arctic and his forces alone wouldn't do a thing but a group of them..? Perhaps they had stood a chance. Of course, this wasn't going to be the strategy Athren was thinking of taking but he knew that if the Earth had a group of warriors, there was a slim to none chance at winning this thing.
Athren nodded his head when Pran asked if he knew anything about the situation in the North. While he didn't know all the finer details of the fight itself, he knew the situation surrounding it. He too had sensed Callion's defeat, though he wasn't sure where Callion had ended up after the fight. He felt the energy of Zaks vanish, he felt Ayu's life force drain. He felt Opherla and another warriors energy shift to a similar signature that Quash had when he was under Liari's control. He felt it all.
"While I don't know all the details of it, the one with that energy is a Changeling from Frost. While I don't know what his intentions with your planet are, he's responsible for destroying both Planet Namek and my former home, Planet Vegeta." Athren paused a moment as he observed Pran, looking for any signs of fear or doubt in the kids mind. He wanted to see how he was going to react to this news, to the weight of everything he was about to be told. "Given this planet still stands, I'd have to guess that the Changeling wants it for its resources. I could be wrong but I've got no other guesses as to why he wouldn't just destroy this planet too." He paused once more, before listing the losses of warriors.
"If it's a team you're looking for, you're going to have a very tough time finding one."
Athren couldn't help but shake his head as he went on about the loss of life at the battle in the Frozen North.
"Zaks is dead, Ayu is dead. Callion.. his signature faded but he's been missing ever since. There were two other warriors there, one of which I knew but I believe she might've been influenced to fight for the enemy and of course. Liari. From what I was sensing, it seemed like she too had joined the enemy."
Athren couldn't help but shrug.
"That doesn't exactly leave you with a big roster to choose from."
